The Heaneys - Are Moving To Cornwall. As a professional southerner life has moved me across the breadth of England but never its length (Dursley is the
furthest North I've ever lived). We seem to be taking this to its logical conclusion now by going just about as far south as you can (without a boat) because from June 17th I shall be Priest in Charge of the parish of Paul in Cornwall. |

The Parish is just the other side of Penzance and as well as Paul includes the fishing village of Mousehole, two estates on the edge of Newlyn and a number of small hamlets and outlying
farms between Paul
and Lamorna Cove. It's all incredibly exciting but also challenging, both professionally and personally - not least because not all of us will be moving. Sam is staying in Dursley and Rebekah will board at her school (though come home at holidays) . Never the less I feel hugely blessed to be going there and we are looking forward to it enourmously. (More details and other news
here).

The Site - Ten years ago I was intrigued by the technical challenge of setting up my own web site and it felt quite inovative to do so. The internet has moved on since
then (as have I) and it seems everyone has a blog or a facebook page nowadays - all of which means I haven't kept it up to date recently. The move to Cornwall has however encouraged me to give it another go so I have updated all the main pages (and added a new one). If I do keep the site going then I suppose I ought to change the name because from June I'll no longer be a curate myself. In the mean time I hope it is, like the curate's egg , at least 'good in parts'. |
